CAPE MAY, NJ - Facing 50 degree temperatures with strong winds and mist, the Northampton Golf team finds itself in 6th place after the first day of the Region XIX championship at Cape May National.

Troy Heffelfinger fired a 79, which was the third lowest score recorded during the round, to lead Northampton.  The Spartans shot a team score of 375, putting them 45 strokes off Burlington and Morris which each finished at 330.  Bucks County shot a 342, Delaware Tech 366, Ocean 369, Middlesex 384 and Harrisburg a 402 to round out the team scoring.

Cole Haydt carded a 90, followed by Brian Denaro and Kyle Adamonis each with a 103 and James Lavendar at 123.

The teams return to action tomorrow (Tuesday) morning for a 7:00am start.
