COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - Northampton freshman Shelby Belzecky has been named a First Team All-American by the NJCAA, as announced today by the national office.

Belzecky, a graduate of Parkland High School, led Northampton in batting with a .468 average, including a team-high 40 RBI, 10 doubles, 5 triples, 2 homeruns and a slugging percentage of .706.

Injuries relegated Belzecky to the designated hitter role most of the season, but she made the most of it, earning First Team All-Region honors as the Spartans finished 22-14 and advanced to their 5th consecutive Region XIX Final Four.

Belzecky becomes the first Northampton athlete in any sport to earn First Team NJCAA All-American honors.
